It feels like yesterday when I was bragging about the 2017 Mazda CX-9 – it had everything a Mom could ask for. So how would Mazda change something I already thought was great? Oh, but they did! Packed with updated tech to keep you connected, the best safety features on the market and added comfort that can’t be beat. I’m breaking it down for you in this 2019 Mazda CX-9 Review.

2019 Mazda CX-9 Review: Added Tech & Updated Safety
If you’re the mom who wants it all, this might be the best SUV for moms. It gives you a sense of luxury, with the interior trim and updated tech options, while still offering the sense of security you feel when driving a Mazda.
2019 Mazda CX-9 Safety Features
I’ve always said I feel safest in Mazda products because you feel a connection to the road an a heightened awareness of your surroundings. My favorite new feature is the 360°View Monitor which gives you a birds-eye view of the vehicle as you maneuver tight spaces like parking spots or reverse.
All Mazda CX-9 models come equipped with an innovative, award-winning SKYACTIV-G 2.5T turbocharged engine that delivers up to 250 horsepower on 93-octane gas (227 horsepower with 87-octane gasoline) and a robust 310 lb-ft of torque independent of fuel octane. I knowing it has the power I need, when it comes time to use it.
The bluetooth hands-free phone and audio pairing make it even easier to stay safe. Living in a hands-free state means I’m always connected via Bluetooth technology.
Carrying over to this year’s model, my favorite features are back: Smart City Brake Support with automatic emergency braking, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keep Assist and Lane-Departure Warning. When I’ve got kids in the car as a distraction, I love that these tech additions help me out.
2019 Mazda CX-9 Tech Updates
One of the most anticipated additions is the factory-equipped Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ infotainment technologies in CX-9 Touring trim level and above. It’s a great way to stay connected while keeping your focus on the road ahead.
The 7-inch MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment screen, with revised Commander control knob, keeps you in command of the vehicle’s entertainment, GPS and and your phone. The Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ appear on the touch screen, but you can control it easier when the car is in motion via the Commander control knob.
SiriusXM is an option that comes with SiriusXM Travel Link®Services. This service offers everyday information that travelers might need: fuel prices, movie listings, sport scores, stock prices and weather. Just another way Mazda helps keep drivers connected.

I love that Mazda includes so much no matter which model you pick. The CX-9 Sport is the Sport Package that includes a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, heated door mirrors, automatic headlights, High Beam Control, Lane-Keep Assist, Lane-Departure Warning, full-speed Mazda Radar Cruise Control, rain-sensing wipers and Smart Brake Support automatic emergency braking.
It’s truly an award-winning family SUV that has only improved each year. The 2019 Mazda CX-9 is currently on sale with a starting MSRP of $32,280.
