School has been back in session for several months and the holidays are quickly approaching. This is the time of year when the hustle can catch up and you’re left with little time to yourself.
But if you don’t re-commit to an exercise program now, it’ll be much harder during the holidays. Hectic schedules can make sticking to an exercise program hard, even for the most devote gym junkie.
By preparing and starting a few healthy habits, you can easily re-commit to exercise before it’s too late. These 6 tips can help you get back into the daily exercise grind:
1) Set a New Goal
Decide on a new and attainable goal that will help initiate a drive from within. It doesn’t have to be huge, but something that seems doable for your current fitness level.
2) Schedule Workouts
Put it on your calendar and make it a priority. Schedule it for the time of day that you have the most energy. You’ll be less likely to skip out on the workout, if it’s scheduled like a true appointment.
3) Buy the Gear
If you usually exercise outside, invest in some new warm piece for Fall & Winter. If you aren’t equipped with the proper gear, you’ll use it as an excuse to cancel.
4) Plan, Plan, Plan
Make sure you are all set for the workout. Put your clothes, shoes and hair accessories out prior to your scheduled workout. That way you don’t have to think twice about what you’re wearing. This is so important for early morning workouts.
5) Grab a Friend
Find a buddy who will hold you accountable for your workout. You’ll both enjoy the company and encourage each other to stay on track.
6) Rest Up
Focus on getting an adequate amount of sleep so you’ll have energy for your workout. If you’re too tired, you’ll be less likely to exercise.
How are you going to workout this Fall? Does your workout routine change during the holidays?
