This idea came to me when we had some leftover rolls of store-bought cookie dough in our refrigerator. They’re such a versatile tool when you need a quick dessert option. You’ll love how easy this cookie cake comes together. The kids think it’s the neatest dessert and they even help put the spiders on it. It’s sure to be a big hit in your home with the kiddos.

You can find the sugar cookie dough rolls in your refrigerated section. I use the Pillsbury brand because they use treated flour and eggs to ensure it’s safe to eat raw (just in case little fingers grab some). You can also shape it into whatever you want. Obviously, a traditional circle is all you need for the Halloween Cookie Cake.
How To Make The Perfect Circle Design
When you’re pressing your cookie dough into a circle, use a bowl to help you make that perfect circular shape. I do it on top of my cookie sheet. Flip the bowl over and cut around the edges. That will give you the perfect circle. Of course you don’t need to do this step, but I like the nice round even look.
What To Serve With Your Halloween Cookie Cake
Keep it simple and fun. If I’m making this as a dessert for the kids, then I just add a glass of cold milk. They love it as a fall dessert. If you want to get a bit more fancy, this Non-Alcoholic Halloween Punch recipe is a great pairing for a party.

How To Make Your Halloween Cookie Cake Kids Dessert
Open your refrigerated sugar cookie dough and place on top of a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper (or silicone baking sheet). Press into a circle. Back according to package directions (11-14 minutes). Let it cool completely.
In a mixing bowl, mix one can of white frosting with orange gel food coloring, until you get the desired orange color you like. I added a lot for a deeper orange color! Spread onto the cookie, using a knife.
To create your spider web design: start by making a dot in the center. Draw straight lines to the outer edges, from the center.
In-between each straight line, make “u-shape” that connects to each straight line. Add plastic spiders to finish.
